Must Haves:
- B.S. in Engineering or Business related field preferred (open to AS degree IF they have substantial experience)
- 5+ years direct purchasing experience in manufacturing space
- Commodity focused in steel OR machining OR castings/Forging
- Experience managing projects (multi-project timelines)
- **Skilled in cost analysis (understanding of component cost drivers and commodity market intelligence/research)**
- Experience working directly with vendors - negotiating, analysis, quotes, etc.
- Strong PC skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Plusses:
- Previous experience working in automotive space
- Any professional certifications (i.e. – CPP (certified purchasing professional), CSCP (certified supply chain professional), CPPB (certified professional public buyer), etc..)
- Experience working with Oracle.
- VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering)

Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Buyer skilled in cost analysis for a large Manufacturing company in Greenville, SC. This individual will perform a full range of professional buyer assignments and will at times be required to lead Purchasing Projects that could impact multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of component cost drivers, commodity market intelligence (related to labor costs, material costs, etc.), ability to read drawings, and understanding of market trends. This individual will be responsible for researching and understanding these market trends and will create a Benchmark on assigned commodities, create a Make-vs-Buy analyses, etc.. The goal of this person is to be able to estimate what the client should be paying for this component. This individual will be responsible for evaluating commodities and suppliers to determine what type of agreement is required with each supplier and then to draft, negotiate, and implement the decided level of the contract. In these negotiations, this individual will strive to accomplish the Should Be/Target pricing they’ve determined to be market competitive for component piece price, tooling cost, etc.. They will also look to determine cost reduction activities from the beginning of the product design stage, through the production life of the product purchased. The individual will be responsible for the management of Supplier Risk as well as Quarterly reporting of KPI’s to each Key Supplier and will be responsible for the overall performance of his/her suppliers and their Quality, Cost and Delivery performance.
