Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for their DC Metro office. The successful candidate will work closely with the business development team and other discipline leads to develop technical proposals and take an active role in marketing and business development. This role provides an opportunity to help build and mentor a team of dedicated engineering professionals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary office environment. The position involves direct interaction with clients, offering consulting services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a range of electrical projects, including power distribution, lighting systems, and coordinating complex, multifaceted projects. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration (required).
Experience in:
- Designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
- Managing and designing multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Leading design teams.
- Managing project budgets and schedules.
- Proficiency with Load Calculation Software.
- Experience with REVIT and CAD.
- Developing fee and qualification-based proposals.
- Familiarity with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and industry relationships (a plus).
- Active involvement in local industry (a plus).
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards, ensuring design compliance with applicable regulations.
- Preparing electrical drawings, including power distribution layouts, lighting plans, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Performing electrical calculations and analysis using industry-standard programs.
- Experience with energy modeling and lighting control systems (a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary projects and teams.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
