Quality Systems Manager
A candidate for Quality Systems Manager should have the skills and qualifications that align with this job description, such as:
- Thorough understanding of automotive and aerospace quality systems, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of IATF16949, AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485 and ISO14001. Additionally, Candidate should be familiar with VDA6.3 audit process.
- Audit certifications for IATF16949 and/or AS9100 preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of statistical techniques, quality control plans, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to identify areas of improvement in the Quality Department and effectuate change.
- Proven leadership skills to manage and direct the quality assurance team effectively and to meet the needs of our broad customer base.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, and solve complex quality issues in the production process.
- Excellent communication skills to explain quality standards, procedures, and issues to team members and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail to ensure all elements of production adhere to quality standards and requirements.
- Proficiency in using quality control software, as well as a strong understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technologies.
- Project management skills to plan, coordinate, and oversee quality control projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with customers, engineers, technicians, and other production staff.
- Problem-solving skills to find and implement effective solutions to quality issues.
Quality Manager Educational and Work Experience Requirements
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Hard Science or statistics.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in either the automotive or aerospace industry with a significant portion of this time spent in a quality assurance role.
Minimum 5 years in a quality management position in a manufacturing setting.
Candidates shall have in addition to practical experience, a strong understanding of quality management systems, automotive, medical and aerospace standards (IATF16949 ISO13485 AS9100, AS9102) and other industry-specific regulatory requirements is essential.
Significant experience with APQP/PPAP, SPC, S1002’s, First Article Inspection Reports, Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode Analysis and Control Plans.
Candidates shall have experience with IQS software or quality integrated ERP solutions.
Must be a United States Citizen or hold Permanent US Resident Status.
Ability to travel is required.
