The Director of Business Analysis is a key leadership role within the Information Technology team. This role builds trusted, active relationships with our internal partners in broad areas of the company and technology team to support the delivery to top quality technology solutions. The role leads and supports a growing team of 25 Analysts across multiple agile teams to ensure they have the knowledge, tools and techniques needed to serve their business partners. Career planning and development are an integral responsibility of this role.
Responsibilities Include:
- Relationship Management
- Building deep knowledge of the Amwins business model, processes, success criteria, roadmap and culture in order to effectively partner with Product Owners and others in the delivery of high-value solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and IT Leaders to create and manage enterprise-wide roadmaps, timelines, dependencies and risks.
- Becoming very familiar with the Information Technology processes, tools, structures and solutions to effectively engage with a wide variety of team members in the mitigation of risk, opportunity identification, enhanced solution supportability and high-value solution delivery.
- Analysis Process Approach and Refinement
- Strong working knowledge of agile solution delivery frameworks as a means to delivering business value. Understanding that a framework will be adapted based on various influencing elements such as team structure, solution complexity, process maturity, etc.
- Work with business and technology leaders to identify and support process improvement opportunities within the functional group.
- Fully collaborative approach to team member engagement to enhance collective delivery of business value through process efficiencies, shared workloads, risk and issue management, and effective communications.
- Demonstrating highly effective work routines and individual accountability. Championing of business needs and continuous improvement to increase value of solution delivery.
- Analyst Career Development
- Define and guide the maturation of the business analyst function within Amwins.
- Cultivate a learning culture by providing coaching, mentorships, peer-to-peer learning, skills development, competency development, etc.
- Thoughtfully manage key person risk mitigation, succession planning, and career growth opportunities.
- Team Leadership Activities
- Perform resource planning by forecasting the skills and capacity needed to satisfy the Solution Delivery Portfolio.
- Work with internal and external recruiters to secure and onboard new talent.
- Conduct performance management responsibilities.
- Engage and lead team via communications, collaboration, events, etc.

Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a business analyst
- A minimum of 5 years of people management experience
- Proven success in solution delivery and change management
- Experience in the E&S insurance industry or similar
