Our client, a global environmental company, is seeking a Claims Manager to join their team.
This position is responsible for protecting corporate assets by controlling, directing and managing complex workers compensation and automobile liability claims to the most cost-effective disposition for the corporation. Continuous improvement of claims management programs including but not limited to third party administration, cost-containment, education/communication, management of vendors, and auditing compliance with corporate claim reporting and handling procedures.
Responsibilities
- Actively direct all U.S. worker’s compensation and automobile liability claims to cost-effective resolution.
- Manage TPA, legal counsel, medical providers, and other outside vendors including ensuring the execution of agreed upon strategies and evaluation of overall performance.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, EHS and Human Resources teams to guide claims to beneficial outcomes.
- Drive company return to work program.
- Conduct claim reviews, develop action plans and recommendations. Preparation of reports to division and corporate leadership.
- Ensure claim reserve adequacy. Conduct analysis of loss accruals to actual incurred claim experience, to provide input to Corporate Risk Management for the potential modification of actuarial loss projections.
- Attend auto claim mediations, workers compensation hearings and trials, when appropriate.
- Lead Department of Transportation compliance program for two of three divisions.
- Manage the Medicare liability Section III reporting program for the company.
Qualifications
- Requires strong claims handling skills and experience and excellent communication skills.
- Direct and active involvement with claims is expected.
- This individual must work well with other managers where no reporting relationship exists.
- Requires a diligent, hard working, persistent individual with considerable judgment to apply factual background and fundamental principles in developing approaches and techniques for the solution of problems
- Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience in managing worker’s compensation or automobile liability claims.
- ARM, CPCU or similar certification a plus.
