POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the senior most finance leader within the business and manages the overall corporate accounting function; it oversees operational accounting, the preparation and completion of financial statements, preparation of cash flow forecasting, the annual operating plan for this company, and the company’s audit and is also responsible for training, supervising and leading the Accounting Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, train and lead the Accounting Team.
- Managing the Company’s monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting closing processes.
- Preparation of financial reports, budgets and forecasts, and overseeing all accounting functions.
- Presenting various accounting reports to management, as well as making relevant observations and providing appropriate recommendations.
- Managing operational data and maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
- Preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up and monitoring internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
- Reviewing financial information to ensure completeness of the data.
- Developing and reviewing system controls for ensuring data integrity.
- Conducting and reviewing account reconciliations and analyses.
- Review the team’s monthly journal entries, financial statements, job schedules and other supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets reporting, balance sheet account reconciliations, intercompany billings, etc.
- Control inventory, oversee physical inventory counts, analyze and determine the optimum inventory levels to maintain, ensure proper and appropriate inventory amounts are being charged to jobs, investigate overages/shortages and analyze fabrication productivity among other KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all taxes and appropriate regulatory agencies, including sales and use taxes, property taxes, city licenses and permits, etc. Assist with outside audits including CPA firm financial audits and reviews, insurance and payroll audits and government tax audits.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.
Experience: 10+ years of accounting principles and auditing practices experience. Practical experience with Percentage of Completion Accounting.
Certificates & Licenses: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) required
