About the Company
We are seeking an experienced Director of People and Culture to join our team, focusing on human resources functions, employee engagement, and workforce development within the hospitality and food & beverage sectors. In this role, you will lead HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. You will also design and implement HR policies and training programs aimed at enhancing employee development and retention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, people management, and a deep commitment to creating a positive, productive workplace culture in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related concerns, including performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
- Support HR compliance efforts, including maintaining records, processing employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with senior management to address staffing needs, training, and employee engagement strategies.
- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies to build a pipeline of qualified candidates through platforms like LinkedIn, Culinary Agents, and Indeed.
- Provide payroll support for the departments, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
- Train and develop front-line managers, including creating training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent onboarding and development of new team members.
- Manage the full recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding for both hourly and salaried positions.
- Lead recruitment efforts for various roles, ensuring compliance with labor laws and supporting managers with staffing and scheduling needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates to create a strong pipeline for future hiring needs.
- Assist in employee engagement initiatives, including planning and organizing company events and recognition programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in HR, recruitment, and talent management, preferably within the hospitality or food & beverage industry.
- Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workflows.
- Proven ability to develop and implement training programs and employee engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of HR compliance and employment laws.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise HR staff and oversee daily operations related to talent acquisition, employee relations, and onboarding.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
- Address employee concerns and work to resolve conflicts effectively.
