Description:
The Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences is hiring an experienced a part-time Sterile Processing Technician Instructor. The Sterile Processing Technician Instructor will be responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress towards course objectives and for the periodic review and updating of course material.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess a credential in the field of central service or sterile processing technician through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or has a current CRCST Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential issued by HSPA
- Coordinates completion by students of all clinical competencies, and ensure that all of the objectives are met during the duration of clinical rotation.
- Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
- Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and relates the instruction to career and employer's expectations.
- Implements evaluation for outcomes assessment, and achieves established results while maintaining college standards of student satisfaction.
- May travel to relevant medical facilities, community venues, as required, in support of curricular activities.
- Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, shares pertinent information to the Program Director.
- Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other college events as required by the College.
- Ensures that there are sufficient and a variety of clinical sites for students to be placed at during their clinical rotation.
- Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
- Responsible for organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the program.
- Works in conjunction with the Program Director to assess and record student paperwork related to clinical experiences.
- Works in conjunction with the Program Director to coordinate clinical portion of program including medical files.
- Conducts preceptor-ship duties as needed.
- Assists Program Director and Clinical Instructors with hospital orientations as needed.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education:
- Associates Degree or higher (Required)
Experience:
- Sterile processing: 4 years (Preferred)
- surgical processing: 2 years (Required)
- Classroom experience preferred, not required.
License/Certification:
- CRCST or CIS or CHL (Required)
Compensation details: 42-48 Hourly Wage
