With a strong portfolio and a multitude of new projects already signed for the coming year, they're expanding our team and looking for a talented Superintendent to oversee the construction of ground-up grocery store projects, including well-known brands like Tom Thumb and HEB.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with a proven track record in ground-up grocery store construction. This individual will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through project closeout for ground-up grocery store projects.
Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and execute construction schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets the company’s quality standards and adheres to design specifications.
Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
Coordination: Coordinate daily activities with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Problem Solving: Identify potential issues or conflicts and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, preferably with a focus on ground-up grocery stores or similar retail projects.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on-time, on-budget results.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
OSHA certification and other relevant construction safety certifications are a plus.
