Consumer Product Development Specialist
Client: AAA Video Game Studio
Target Start Date: 10/28/2024
Contract End Date: 6/30/2025 (potential to extend)
Location: Location in or around Los Angeles area is desired. This is still a remote position, but there's potential to go to a trade show or meeting occasionally.
Daily Schedule: 40 hours, Mon - Fri, standard business hours
Benefits: 3 weeks of PTO accrued every 12 months + standard Apex contractor benefits
Pay Rate: $40 – $47.25/hr
Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to manage and review our Video Game Brand consumer product submissions from our licensees, guiding them from concept to final production on a wide range of consumer products.
Key projects: This role will contribute to Merch for global Video Game Brand consumer products business, including events and collaborations with other brands.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of Daily review of product submissions, communication with licensees and providing creative and brand guidance to inform their product designs.
Candidate Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with MS Outlook
- 1+ years of experience with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- Experience with MyMediaBox highly desirable
- 2+ years of experience in product development or relevant role
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to prioritize workload
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability
- Familiarity with or experience playing video games preferred
- Disqualifiers: Candidates with no experience in consumer product development or design or related experience will not be eligible for the role.
Job Description:
Our team is looking for an individual experienced in consumer product development with an emphasis on apparel, accessories and softlines. This role will use approved Style Guide assets to move licensed products and packaging through the product development cycle. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, good communication skills, and independent thinking. In addition, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for detail and possess a clear and concise communication style are vital to this role. Familiarity with our Video Game, licensed merchandise, the product approve cycle and the softlines business is strongly encouraged.
Core Responsibilities
• Manage softlines product development, including but not limited to, apparel & accessories,
footwear and home across multiple territories
• Manage/track product approvals through MyMediaBox, processing many submissions daily
• Provide copy review on packaging and product
• Track asset usage to ensure they are used within guidelines
• Review photos of contractual samples and provide feedback/approvals when necessary
