Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Snowflake to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data architecture, ensuring that our data pipelines and systems meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. You will mentor fellow engineers and drive continuous improvements in our processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of data engineers to design, deliver, and manage data solutions through code reviews, release management, and project meetings.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the enhancement of team processes and best practices.
- Analyze business needs and align data architecture and designs with organizational objectives.
- Develop data pipelines for efficient extraction, transformation, integration, and loading (ETL/ELT) of data from diverse sources.
- Assemble and model complex data sets to fulfill functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Create data tools to empower analytics teams in generating insights that provide a competitive advantage.
- Implement data tagging mechanisms and manage metadata to ensure data is accurately classified and accessible.
- Establish processes to monitor and enhance data quality, consistency, and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with information privacy and protection policies in data management practices.
- Utilize agile development methodologies to iteratively improve data management systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 9+ years of experience in data management.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with a deep understanding of data warehouse architectures, infrastructure components, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Proven experience in performance analysis and optimization of data systems.
- Expertise in data acquisition, transformation, and storage design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and related technologies is a must.
