Position: Litigation Attorney
Location: Fort Lauderdale- Onsite
Duration: Full-time & direct hire
About the position:
- This position will collect, analyze, organize, and maintain factual information and documents, both electronic and hard copies, in accordance with correct legal practice and procedure.
- Will draft legal documents, including motions, affidavits, and discovery.
- Will research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys.
- Will perform all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and subpoenas; and compiling and organizing coding/indexing documents.
- Will prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.
- Will Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- On a case-specific basis, will oversee the organization and maintenance of the case file and case management spreadsheet and delegate to and oversee the tasks of department assistants and/or file clerks, as needed.
Experience Required:
- Paralegal Certificate/Degree OR ten years of litigation paralegal experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Florida and U.S. District Court laws, court procedures, and electronic discovery.
- Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial.
- Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including negotiating for workspace, setting up remote office space, and coordinating with clients
- and vendors.
- Experience maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and electronic case files.
- Experience with court and administrative agency filings, including electronic or e-filings.
- Experience using e-discovery databases and litigation support software for document production, witness files, and deposition transcripts and exhibits.
