Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources & Labor Relations function at our vast, 63-acre facility. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront. The successful candidate will support the 1,000+ working men and women on our waterfront by coordinating HR best practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Detailed Description:
- Assists employees regarding benefit questions or requirements.
- Serves as the liaison for employees for questions relating to benefits and payroll. Works with the respective corporate departments to resolve issues and communicate to employees.
- Responsible for the data collection and analysis of the company's affirmative action plan.
- Responsible for completing monthly level two KPI/reports for.
- Processes Exit Interview forms, notifies appropriate personnel of terminations, and provides appropriate benefits information to terminated employees.
- Handles requests for verifications of employment, benefits, unemployment insurance, and other employment information as directed.
- Assists with maintaining files, forms and database information associated with personnel, benefits, attendance, general information and recruiting.
- Performs recalls and layoffs of production employees, to include required paperwork.
- Routinely audits Company-owned personnel files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
- Coordinates employee relations issues with Manager, HR Administration to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.
- Maintain plan and office bulletin boards in an up-to-date and legal compliance manner.
- Performs related duties in support of the human resources function, in a primary or backup capacity.
- Provides assistance for training programs and updates training records on a recurring basis.
- Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies.
- Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in HR or related field
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry experience beneficial, but not necessary
- Experience in ADP/SAP is beneficial
- Knowledge of HR Policy and Procedure
- Knowledge of Employment Law (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.)
- Knowledge of Compensation practices
- Knowledge of Labor Union Relations
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to be self-directed
