Immediate opportunity for a Scientist to support early-stage drug discovery with a leading biotechnnology company located in Thousand Oaks, CA.
In this role you will be a part of Company’s Induced Proximity Platform (IPP), joining our Ligase Biology group. The IPP is charged with developing Company’s newest drug modality aimed at Targeted Protein Degradation, including the discovery of PROTACs and molecular GLUEs. In this role, you will support the development of reagents and tools critical to the IPP’s goal of discovering and developing novel therapies for cancer and other therapeutic areas.
This role involves extensive hands-on work in mammalian cell culture, CRISPR-based gene editing, and molecular biology techniques such as transfection and Western blot analysis. As a Scientist, you will support the discovery and development of novel therapeutic modalities for targeted protein degradation, contributing to cutting-edge research in a collaborative, dynamic lab environment.
Schedule/Shift: 1st shift, Mon.-Fri
Position Type: 2 year contract (through Nov. 2026); potential for extension
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, generate, and optimize cell-based tools and reagents for proteomic and CRISPR-based screening efforts.
- Support discovery and development of novel therapeutic modalities based on Targeted Protein Degradation, including prospective discovery of small molecule molecular GLUEs.

Qualifications:
- PhD with 0 years' experience; OR Master's degree (MS) and two (2) or more years' experience; OR Bachelor's degree (BS) and four (4) or more years' experience. Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform expansive range of work in a role. Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.
- Extensive hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, cell line maintenance, generation and characterization of stable cell lines.
- Strong background in molecular biology and cell-based assays, including DNA and RNA transfection, lentiviral transduction; experience with molecular cloning, plasmid and siRNA transfection, gel electrophoresis and Western blot analysis.
- Broad knowledge of cancer and cellular biology
- Understanding and experience in CRISPR-based editing systems. Experience working with lentiviral vectors and particles.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, proactivity, and the ability to effectively present scientific findings.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with protein degradation, cancer biology, or disease-related biology
- Extensive hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, cell line maintenance, generation and characterization of stable cell lines is required.
- Strong background in molecular biology and cell-based assays; experience with molecular cloning, plasmid and siRNA transfection, gel electrophoresis and Western blot analysis.
- Understanding and experience in CRISPR-based editing systems is preferred.
