Project Manager, Environmental Health
The Project Manager supports Elevate’s Healthy Homes work including health and safety, weatherization, indoor air quality, and lead reduction. The Project Manager is responsible for the smooth execution of projects that eliminate lead-based paint hazards and create healthier homes for families. Under general oversight, the Project Manager will execute one or more Healthy Homes, home repair, and/or lead abatement projects supported by a governmental or philanthropic funder, supporting building-related environmental health initiatives, work on program design and program implementation, manage stakeholder relations, and complete required reports. The Project Manager is a key member in the planning and execution of environmental health programs and will work collaboratively to help grow Elevate’s impact, expertise, and ultimately help fulfill Elevate’s mission.
The Project Manager reports directly to the Director, Environmental Health and will also work with other managers and senior staff to support other projects and programs across business units as needed. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois and is currently virtual.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of Environmental Health project(s) locally and regionally; follow Elevate’s project management process: planning, budget, invoicing, Unanet and other project management tracking documents; manage project partners, stakeholders, and internal staff.
- Develop and execute integrated project work plans (budgets, schedule, resources)
- Monitor the execution of Environmental Health projects, manage project metrics, and adjust the work plan accordingly
- Ensure compliance with governmental, utility or environmental regulations; develop, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures for the program as needed
- Ensure projects fully comply with Elevate Energy’s operational processes and project management tools such as the ERP system (Unanet), CRM system (Salesforce), etc.
- Work with other internal teams and QA/QC teams to maintain and improve program quality
- Identify, vet, and execute new ideas or best practices to improve program operations
- Manage relationships with partners, and community stakeholders and support the growth of new opportunities for Environmental Health programs and initiatives
- Support outreach efforts including material development, speaking engagements, and engagement strategy with key partners. As needed, support strategic and business planning activities for the program in conjunction with Elevate leadership and the energy and sustainability programs team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Project Management or related field or equivalent professional experience required
- Three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience implementing similar projects, including project management experience
- Demonstrated experience using CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) for data tracking and reporting, as well as general office software
- Familiarity with environmental health related topics, emerging building-related environmental health, and energy industry practices
- Comfortable working with various types of data including health information and energy use data
- Experience working with public agencies and conducting community outreach
- Strong initiative and leadership skills
- Ability to work within clients’ confidentiality requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as managing and coordinating day-to-day project related activities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high degree of accuracy
- Desire to increase quality of service and customer satisfaction by identifying opportunities for improvement and making constructive suggestions for change
Compensation:
The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $65,000 - $75,000, based on experience.
