As a senior engineer in the design section, analyze and design new and existing DOT structures and assist in the preparation of plans and special provisions for new bridges, bridge widenings and reconstructions, bridge overlays, and other structures such as retaining walls, sound walls, and hydraulic structures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.
AND
- Experience with structural engineering practices to create plans and review the work of others,
- Experience using bridge design computer software,
- Experience organizing technical information and construction requirements into written reports
- Experience interpreting and applying AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Guide Specifications, and/or MnDOT Bridge Office design standards, and
- Experience interpreting and applying state and federal regulations, design criteria, and standards to projects.
