The Commercial and Agriculture Product Manager position is critical to the growth, expansion, and profitability of Enerco’s brands and products across these key sectors. The Commercial and Agriculture Product Manager must develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Enerco’s current product line, each identified competitor’s product line(s), and an overall understanding of the market and near-neighbor categories specific to both commercial and agricultural applications.
This market knowledge will be leveraged to identify growth opportunities via new product development, business expansion, and market penetration in commercial and agriculture industries. The Commercial and Agriculture Product Manager will not only identify these growth opportunities but also fully orchestrate the implementation of the opportunities by working closely with sales (product definition, price points), engineering (developing products tailored to commercial and agricultural needs), quality (specifications, certifications), graphics (packaging, label design), sourcing, and manufacturing.
These efforts will deliver unique, profitable products to the commercial and agriculture markets on time and on budget, ultimately increasing Enerco’s market share, profitability, and customer/consumer loyalty within these sectors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of assigned Enerco product line and competitors corresponding product lines (features, benefits, retails, etc.).
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the specific market including “near neighbor” markets from a user and business perspective.
- Develops and maintains product database with product specifications, artwork, and catalog copy for marketing and sales.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the consumers’ needs within the specific market activity.
- Identifies new market expansion opportunities, performing research and developing a unique product offering within the new market.
- Coordinates product presentation and packaging on the retail shelf or as delivered to the customer.
- Manages the timing of new product introductions and responsibility to deliver end result on-time, on-budget, and at the estimated product cost.
- Manages the execution of the marketing plan on new product introductions as necessary.
- Leverages market knowledge by assisting Sales Manager in setting pricing policy on new product introductions.
- Profitability responsibility at the gross margin level in assigned Enerco market segments.
- Manages Enerco intellectual property including trademark and patent submissions within the assigned Enerco market segment.
- Generates preliminary and final financial justification for all products where capital investment is required.
- Performs pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality, or reduce costs.
- Maintains Gantt charts on all product introductions and drive each stakeholder to achieve committed dates, costs, and specifications.
- Some Domestic and International travel required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 2-4 years’ experience in Marketing, Product Management, or Product Development with consumer or industrial products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – must be able to move projects through cross-functional teams
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project)
- Strong analytical and presentation skills required
- Mechanical ability and problem solving ability
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and lead meetings with a broad range of people is required
