Job Title: Production Support Specialist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Production Support Specialist to manage and troubleshoot issues that arise in production environments, specifically related to data pipelines and Power BI reports. The ideal candidate will be adept at investigating issues, resolving problems, and ensuring smooth communication with stakeholders. This role focuses on providing effective production support and process improvement, rather than on pure DevOps or data engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage and troubleshoot issues in production environments, including managing data pipelines and resolving Power BI report errors.
- Dive into code and databases to investigate and identify root causes of production problems.
- Determine if an issue can be resolved directly or if it requires escalation to the development team.
- Communicate with end-users, providing clear and concise updates on issues, outages, and resolutions.
- Draft requirements for tools and processes that improve production support functions, such as monitoring and alerting dashboards.
- Be on-call to handle critical issues that may occur outside of normal business hours (expected to be infrequent).
Required Skills:
- Proficient in SQL, with the ability to query and analyze data in databases.
- Experience working in cloud environments (any cloud platform is acceptable).
- Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for end-users.
Optional Skills (a plus but not required):
- Experience with Spark, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Python.
