Our client is located in Northwest Houston and looking to hire a Network Engineer on a CONTRACT TO HIRE basis. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of the Company’s Network globally. The individual will be part of a team evaluating the Security and Wireless technologies which are to be deployed at the Worldwide offices. This role is FULLY ONSITE and will require some travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in the enterprise infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot outages, alarms, and performance issues throughout the organization.
- Understand change control requirements to ensure compliance with the audit system.
- Physical installation and troubleshooting of all IT equipment at remote locations.
- Design, write and update system documentation and network diagrams.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot various network architectures.
- Monitor and diagnose performance.
- Lead continued improvement activities.
- Design and implement solutions to maximize the functions of the equipment purchased.
- Ability to travel domestically and overseas up to 30% of the year.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience working as a lead on Wireless and Security technologies.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with Versa SD-WAN Technology and configurations.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with standard project management practices.
- Knowledge with configuring and troubleshooting GRE/IPSEC, DMVPN, Any Connect, Zscaler and SSL VPN, Cisco ASA, Palo, DMZ design, LAN, WAN and security best practices.
- Must be able to Administer F5 Load Balancer and BIG-IP Appliance.
- Must be able to interpret and derive conclusions from security logs.
- Expert in Wireless design typically gained from past experiences including Cisco or Aruba.
- Knowledge on Cisco ASR’s, Nexus 7K, Catalyst 9K, 4K & 8K ISR, and Aruba switching product line.
- Must be able to navigate and maintain Network Monitoring and Management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, SilverPeak, EfficientIP & Smart Licensing.
