Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Contract Acquisition: Assist in obtaining TxDOT CEI, Schematic, and PS&E contracts, acting as a primary point of contact for business development in San Antonio and other TxDOT regions across Texas.
- Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with TxDOT decision-makers, local municipalities, and key stakeholders to increase company visibility and secure engineering and surveying contracts.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain a high public profile with targeted client bases through active participation in civil and professional activities, societies, and organizations.
Strategic Growth & Marketing
- Proposal Preparation: Assist in preparing and approving proposals and qualifications for transportation projects, including roads, highways, and multi-modal systems.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Regional Executive to conduct market analysis and frame strategies to diversify services and expand into new markets.
- Corporate Marketing: Participate in the development and execution of company-wide marketing plans to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.
Leadership & Culture
- Visionary Leadership: Align office goals with the company’s mission, contributing to strategic planning and growth.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster communication and knowledge-sharing across teams, organizing meetings and workshops to promote a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
- Employee Engagement: Enhance team morale through team-building activities, recognition programs, and performance management, working closely with HR and BU Presidents.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Champion an inclusive environment that values diversity and supports employee well-being.
Operational Excellence & Change Management
- Performance Oversight: Monitor key performance metrics such as safety, quality, revenue, and project efficiency.
- Culture Champion: Uphold company values, lead by example, and guide teams through changes in processes or technologies.
- Recruitment: Support staff hiring and development within the office to ensure growth and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE licensure in TX (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Strong technical expertise in TxDOT Transportation (CEI and/or Design Engineering).
- Proven experience in business development with TxDOT and local municipalities.
- Civil engineering experience in land development and community infrastructure is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of risk management and loss prevention.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, and relevant technical software.
- Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per the company’s policy.
