Investment Operations Associates within the Operations Group manage all facets of investment data for designated external investment manager relationships. This role involves coordinating with various internal teams, collecting and interpreting data using established methodologies and best practices, managing investment manager profiles, supporting audits and due diligence, ensuring quality control, and handling data requests. The position is operations-centric with back-office responsibilities to support the company's diverse services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash Management: Prepare and execute wire instructions and trade tickets for custodian banks.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of cash accounts with bank/custodian records.
- Data Maintenance: Keep data current and accurate for an assigned portfolio of firms in our database.
- Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with internal and external investment managers by fulfilling data requests promptly and conducting outreach when necessary.
- Operational Support: Assist with key portfolio and trade operations functions.
- Document Analysis: Collect and analyze fund offering documents (financial statements, performance reports, investor letters, commentaries, factsheets, etc.) to track relevant information in our database.
- Quality Control: Ensure data integrity through rigorous quality checks, including documentation confirmation.
- Research: Gather additional information to classify investment products in line with company standards and investment manager expectations.
- Report Production: Take responsibility for the production and delivery of monthly or quarterly fund performance reports using firm datasets and Excel utilities.
- Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues to maintain balanced coverage assignments and responsibilities.
- Project Participation: Engage in dynamic project teams to support overall team productivity.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Experience: 0-4 years of related work experience in investment operations or financial services preferred.
- Skills: Ability to work in a high-productivity, customer service-oriented, team environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Interest: Genuine interest in finance and a desire to learn more about the operational aspects of the investment industry.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with public markets data and/or public alternative investments (e.g., long-only, long-short, hedge/absolute return, and public credit funds) is a plus.
