Linux Architect – High Frequency Trading
Our client, an industry-leading proprietary trading firm and market maker, is seeking a Linux Architect to join their expanding Linux Systems Engineering Team in Chicago. The firm employs innovative, sophisticated proprietary tools and technologies to maintain its competitive edge in high-frequency trading.
As a Linux Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced solutions within a low-latency, bare-metal environment, ensuring the firm’s continued success. Your primary responsibilities will include architecting, deploying, monitoring, and optimizing the firm’s UNIX servers to maintain a robust and efficient production environment. In this role, you will oversee the overall performance of the firm's systems, managing the full server lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement architectures for existing systems, ensuring optimal performance and addressing technical issues as they arise.
- Develop and deploy new solutions that enhance the firm's infrastructure and maintain its competitive edge.
- Improve automation capabilities through effective architecture and strategy tailored for low-latency environments.
- Stay current with industry advancements, evaluating and integrating new technologies and solutions that can enhance trading performance.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in architecting and managing large-scale Linux/Unix server environments in high-frequency trading or similar low-latency settings.
- Strong expertise in Python and experience with automation tools, such as Ansible.
- Deep understanding of Linux Kernel internals, virtualization, and networking principles relevant to high-frequency trading.
- An inquisitive and innovative mindset, with a passion for researching and staying updated on the latest technologies and solutions in the trading landscape.
