Role Summary:
CompQsoft is seeking an IPV6 Senior Information Technology Expert to join our DISA program team in Fort Meade, MD. This is an exciting key position providing Engineering Support which provides end-to-end engineering solutions for DISN projects. The senior IPv6 expert will be responsible for IPv6 implementation across all aspects of the DISN service portfolio and must have strong knowledge of IPv6, IPv6 addressing, and carrier call MPLS/IP core technologies. The expert will drive the design, test and deployment, technology insertion, and tier 3 support of Provider Edge routers throughout the lifecycle of IPv6 implementation and sustainment. Candidate should be knowledgeable about Segment routing and transition methodologies and implementation of SR to replace MPLS from the DISN core. Hands-on experience with SR is desired, but not necessary. As a Senior IPv6 Information Technology Expert, the candidate will be responsible for engineering, testing, implementing, and providing Tier III support for all DISN MPLS services to support IPv6 across each platform.
Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of IPv6 deployment efforts across the DISN MPLS service portfolio. Develop and validate system architecture. Develop and support implementation. Provide lifecycle engineering of network architecture. Provide technical expertise in design review, lab testing & test report, implementation plan, and deployment of new advanced large-scale complex networks. Provide emerging insertion technologies (i.e. new features, capabilities, etc.) in relation to IPv6 Support various clients to satisfy the interoperability requirements. Provide all required documentation in support of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) Provide IPv6 guidance to other Tier III support engineers. Conduct market research to find capabilities and configurations that meet client requirements. Implement and manage IPv6 on MPLS services offering portfolios such as L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN, VPLS, L2 circuits, and CsC (Carrier Supporting Carrier), etc.
- Hands-on experience with either Juniper and/or Cisco routers such as Juniper MX960/MX480 and Cisco ASR9010/ASR9006 routers. Provide technical security expertise in the design, test, evaluation, and deployment of advanced large-scale complex MPLS core network and transition methodologies to Segment Routing. Review security requirements set by the client. Review security threats to the current vendor platforms and determine/implement effective mitigation strategies. Deliver Test Plans and resulting Test Reports. Prepare field recommendations and Configuration guides. Required Skills: DoD and/or Government program experience preferred; DISA experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years experience working in a service provider environment or supporting a large-scale IPv6 implementation across an enterprise and/or a service provider. Familiarity with IPv6 addressing and key standards as published in the IETF. Solid knowledge of IP and networking protocols.
