The Manufacturing Test Engineering function is responsible for the manufacture, integration, and testing of a wide range of products and systems, providing innovative capabilities for our customers.
Job Function:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to define test strategies, fixtures and automated solutions.
- Contribute to test execution, documentation and analysis of results.
- Determination of which test to best apply manually and which to automate in conjunction with manufacturing concepts for each product line.
- Interpret test specifications and acceptance test procedures to conceptualize manual, semi-automated or fully automated test solutions.
- Design and construct electrical test stations per test specifications for testing electronic assemblies.
- Utilize LabView (or equivalent) software to automate existing manual test kits as well and new concept test kits in support of new product development efforts and manufacturing lean cell implementation.
- Utilize specific test equipment to build test stations by designing custom hardware to interface with product, develop test routines, write test software, create test kit documentation packages.
- Debugging production test stations and implement and maintain test equipment for production lines.
- Support the Product Development Team to meet schedule, quality and cost expectations.
- Work with Operations, Engineering, Quality and other support staff to develop and implement improvements related to production flow including test time reduction and quality improvements.
- Responsible for documentation including generating schematics, block diagrams, software code documentation and test flow diagrams.
Job Requirement:
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree and 1+ years of experience
- 1+ years experience LabVIEW software or LabVIEW Associate Developer Certification (or above)
- Experience with test automation tools and their hardware and software interfaces.
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
- Ability to travel 10%
Desired Skills
- Experience with manufacturing test measurements - experience with voltage, current, power analyzers.
- Familiar with testing in accordance with MIL and/or ISO standards.
- Familiar with test equipment with an emphasis on automation and testing solid state power converters and electro-mechanical devices.
- Familiarity with test fixture design and implementation.
- Experience with3D modelling and 3D printing a plus.
- Team player with good communication skills and the ability to train less experienced team members.
- Experience with Java, Python or other programing language is a plus.
