Job Title: Transportation Supervisor
Primary Accountabilities:
The primary purpose of the Transportation Supervisor is to lead and optimize the efforts of the
Transportation department around Company’s stated priorities of Safety, People, Quality, Customer
Service and Cost Management.
Accountabilities:
• Lead, develop and mentor the transportation department to foster employee morale and a
team-oriented environment.
• Meet or exceed Transportation goals objectives.
• Ensure superior customer service environment.
• Create effective dispatch schedules to meet customers’ needs and maximize driver
efficiency.
• Manage fleet maintenance program.
• Work with and coordinate third party carriers as necessary. Develop relationships to
ensure reliable service.
• Foster an atmosphere where safety is a priority with an emphasis on protecting company
assets and preventing injuries.
• Optimize backhaul opportunities.
• Ensure proper training of new hires and ongoing training of current employees.
• Maintain compliance requirements and adherence to DOT regulations, including hours of
service, vehicle maintenance and driver safety standards.
• Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Transportation experience and an understanding of logistics.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of logistics in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience dealing with commercial vehicles.
• Minimum two years of experience in management or leadership role.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (includes some weekend/holiday responsibilities)
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, TEAMS).
• Understand/troubleshoot transportation management issues.
• Excellent prioritizing, organizing and decision-making skills required.
Dynamic communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of
management and personnel.
• College Degree is strongly preferred.
• Self-motivated, positive, dependable & participate as a team member to achieve common
goals with sense of urgency.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
