Job Title: Aeronautical Common Services
SUMMARY/ Duties Works independently under general guidelines or objectives
Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) provides Aeronautical Common Services (ACS) as the single trusted access point of Aeronautical Information including Special Activity Airspace, .Federal NOTAM System, and airport configuration data Integration and ingestion of eNational Airspace System Resource (eNASR) and Special Use Airspace (SUA) Management System (SAMS) data through eNASR and SAMS SWIM services.
Works independently with close supervision. Provides support in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems. Will work with software programming languages such as Java, XML and SQL. Familiarity with object-oriented programming techniques, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux skills may be required. May need to work with specialists from other disciplines such as hardware, software, logistic support, and testing to produce fully integrated and responsive components and systems. Interprets and analyzes complex information systems data to develop technical documentation, system diagrams, and presentation materials
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Provide 2nd level engineering support for ACS
2. Develop and manage software maintenance transition plan
a. Define objectives
b. Identify resources needed
c. Develop schedules
d. Develop cost estimates
3. Review and comment on system engineering documents; system requirement documents; software testing documents; training material
4. Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team
5. Coordinate with various stakeholders and communicate effectively and clearly
6. Develop software modifications for ACS
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Understanding of software architecture
• Knowledge of database management
• Ability to allocate and manage resources
• Understand program risk, identify and mitigate risks to the plan
• Experience communicating with stakeholders
Preferred
• Working knowledge of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architecture.
• Knowledge of server operations, data communications and systems analysis and networks
• Solid understanding of IP network technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
