Investment Analyst/Associate – Asset Based Private Credit Investment, LA
A leading US mid-market Asset Based Alternative Investor is recruiting for an Investment Analyst/Associate to join their high achieving Private Credit team in Los Angeles, due to an exceptional period of deal flow, successful fundraising and internal growth.
This is a standout opportunity to work alongside a seasoned team of solutions driven, generalist credit investment professionals. Focusing on the origination, underwriting and execution of flexible asset based solutions across non-sponsored corporates within the mid-market.
The investment team has a proven track record, having deployed billions of dollars across multiple funds, they pride themselves on their lean structure, collaborative style of working and a highly entrepreneurial approach in sourcing investment opportunities across a vast range of asset classes.
The firm is looking to hire an eager, curious and highly driven individual, candidates will require a strong academic record, 1-3 years of relevant industry experience and skills gained from roles in top tier banking teams such as Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Specialty or Leveraged Finance. Backgrounds in Structured Credit, Private Credit or Corporate Finance will be an equally good fit.
This unique opportunity for an Investment Analyst/Associate, will provide direct exposure to the overall deal lifecycle, and responsibility in carrying out key duties contribute to the successful delivery of asset based credit investment solutions, across a plethora of non-sponsored opportunities.
The variable responsibilities, will range from supporting MDs and senior members of the team in evaluating and underwriting new investment opportunities, running due diligence processes, drafting credit memos, building detailed and bespoke financial models, executing transactions and monitoring closed investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required from top tier educational institution with an outstanding academic record
- 1-3 years of prior relevant experience in FIG, Specialty or Leveraged Finance, Structured Credit or Private Credit and Corporate Finance backgrounds from Tier 1 Investment Banking or Buyside Institutions
- High level of technical, analytical and financial modelling skills
- Excellent work ethic and a proactive attitude
- Strong credit acumen with the ability to think critically about the qualitative aspects of a transaction as well as execute on the quantitative analysis required to evaluate an investment opportunity
- Experience in underwriting and structuring transactions, preparing marketing and presentation materials and running due diligence processes
- Strong sense of accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting
- Team oriented, with ability and interest in providing technical training and mentoring to other junior employees
- Highly adaptable, with flexibility on depth and breadth of role and responsibilities
