Leadenhall Search & Selection is representing and working exclusively with a privately held, fully integrated commercial real estate company which invests private capital on behalf of itself, and its investment partners, in their search for their General Counsel.
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled General Counsel with a minimum of 6 years of legal experience, particularly in commercial real estate. This role will involve providing comprehensive legal guidance to support our business operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all legal matters related to the firm’s investment strategies and commercial real estate transactions.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and various departments.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage external legal counsel and coordinate litigation efforts as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to practice law.
- 6+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on commercial real estate.
- Proven track record of advising on complex transactions and regulatory matters.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
