Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Editor, who will also perform duties akin to an Assistant Finishing Editor. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments, and are comfortable with a long-term commitment.
This is a full-time 2-year contract that is hybrid onsite in Los Angeles, CA. (Seeking candidates who are comfortable remaining in the Assistant Editor role for at least two years. Ideal candidates should demonstrate ambition and a desire to grow their career, but without the urgency to advance immediately. They will stay dedicated to this role, developing their skills, and progressing naturally as opportunities arise.)

Assistant Editor / Assistant Finishing Editor Responsibilities:
- Convert finished masters into various aspect ratios and formats for social media platforms (Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, etc.)
- Prepare projects for finishing and final graphic/VFX integration
- Convert finished sequences for repurposing by adjusting key day/date graphics, completing Audio Layback process for Master Delivery, and exporting completed sequences
- Apply color grading and/or LUTs to NLE sequences
- Produce and edit reformatted end credits & full screen logo spots, as needed
- Perform closed caption fixes and basic technical edits and adjustments as needed
Assistant Editor / Assistant Finishing Editor Requirements:
- Portfolio/reel showcasing high-volume, short-form asset output required.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, content post-production, or related fields.
- Expert proficiency in technical specs for broadcast, cable, OTT, and social media platforms.
- High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.
- Experience with color grading (Lumetri) and Premiere Pro's Essential Sound & Graphics panels.
- Strong understanding of industry-standard file types (MOV, MP4, AIFF, WAV, etc.) and video specs (aspect ratios, frame rates, codecs).
- Familiar with AirTable, Slack, and Box; proficient in both PC and Mac OS.
- Positive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in deadline-driven environments.
- Flexible schedule, willing to work overtime during busy periods, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apple Final Cut X, Adobe After Effects, Leader HD Scopes, and DaVinci Resolve.
Education
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a media-related field preferred.
