Description of Position: Conduct training development and training management duties in support of USSPACECOM’s force development responsibilities.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, and executes extensive aspects of Command training activities.
- Establishes learning systems program goals and objectives, which includes course design and development strategies, delivery processes, technology enabled learning enhancements, and processes.
- Conduct coordination with Directorate (J-Dir) SMEs and training/education personnel to determine training and professional development requirements within each Directorate.
- Works independently on Command-level training projects and follows a project through from development to execution to sustainment.
- Supports all USSPACECOM and J7 activity by advising Command and Directorate leaders on training policy, procedures, programs, and methods.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Mastery knowledge of joint training principles, concepts, directives, practices, analytical methods and techniques, and seasoned instructional system design background.
- Skilled in evaluating issues and then gathering and analyzing data to develop alternatives and formulate solutions to problems.
- Communicate effectively (verbal & written) with internal staff and external agencies (to include academic institutions) in the planning, coordination, and execution of the directorate's training mission.
- Skilled in the use of standard research tools and office production and management software (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and other research tools, and the Internet).
- Independently develop strategic training policy and doctrine.
- Justify, defend, present, and advise on budgetary and/or acquisition processes and actions.
- Manage several projects simultaneously, develop and maintain milestones, effectively communicate with leadership and stakeholders, use effective time management, and lead peers as required.
- Lead the identification, development, and provision of relevant training/education short falls, corresponding deliverables, and development of key leader engagements to connect USSPACECOM with a diverse community of academic institutions. Sustain and grow the network of member military and civilian education institutions. Coordinate for USSPACECOM personnel professional development and collaborative opportunities with these member institutions.
- Speak to USSPACECOM leaders to further develop engagement activities with academia. Knowledge of space and missile defense capability integration into Joint space operations facilitating the identification and analysis of training gaps through exercise evaluation.

- Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing (as described in Position Duties/Responsibilities above).

- Occasional travel away from the regular duty location will be required.
