Overview: The Supervisor Clinical Acute Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the daily operations of the unit/department, ensuring effective patient care. This role is accountable for supervising staff and managing patient care for the assigned unit/department. This position identifies and achieves program goals and outcomes, while maintaining regulatory and professional standards. This role supports and maintains a cost-effective, progressive, and customer-focused service.

Responsibilities: Applies nursing process to the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
Develops, revises, and documents plan of care including discharge planning in collaboration with the patient, significant others, and health care providers.
Implements interventions in a manner to maintain consistency, patient dignity, privacy and safety, assisting with educating staff regarding the nursing process, documentation, and use of the clinical pathways.
Assists with the completion of performance appraisals and generates and/or participates in development of the departmental schedule and manages daily staffing operations.
Provides input for annual budget process, monitoring and maintaining departmental cost-containment activities.
Operationalizes the QI/PI program for department and facilitates staff PI/QI education and participation.
Recognizes opportunities for QI process, participates in the designs and implementation of the design of these processes.
Facilitates building and preserving collaborative relationships, including staff mediation.
Facilitates/monitors ongoing activities to meet regulatory standards.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in clinical specialty
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license
Preferred: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
