Location - 19116 Spring St., Union Grove, WI
This position is onsite Monday - Thursday in Union Grove, WI. On Friday's, employees have the option to work from home after an initial onboarding period.

Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Director of Business Development will lead Real Flame Company’s strategic growth by identifying new markets and customers, crafting winning proposals, and overseeing strong client relationships. They will collaborate with various teams and coach others to achieve sales and revenue targets. This leadership role requires exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and consumer durables industry experience.
Essential Functions
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the business development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Identify key growth areas and market opportunities.
- Maintain and present a Quarterly Business Review
- In conjunction with the VP of Sales update and execute a rolling-three year plan
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy and identify potential areas for expansion or diversification.
Partnership Development: Build and nurture relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and potential customers to create new business opportunities and drive long-term growth.
Business Development: Lead business development activities, including pre-qualification efforts, customer feedback initiatives, and market trend analysis. Oversee the identification and pursuit of new business leads, including managing the sales pipeline and ensuring effective follow-up and closure of opportunities.
Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, agreements, and terms with customers and partners to ensure mutually beneficial arrangements and optimal business outcomes.
Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market shifts to identify innovative approaches and solutions that can drive business growth.
- Launch new products flawlessly with attention to detail.
- Measure and adjust based on results.
Marketing and Proposal Development: Collaborate with marketing team to produce internal and external communications, marketing materials, and presentations to enhance brand visibility.
Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison between Real Flame Company, Inc. and key customers, fostering strong relationships and understanding their needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other functional areas such as Marketing, Customer Service, Sourcing, Engineering/Design/Quality, Merchandising, and Operations to align business development efforts with overall company objectives and ensure effective execution of growth strategies.
P&L Responsibilities: Evaluate customer programs, promotions, advertising and terms and continuously improve the ROI

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Online content management, sales planning, and marketing experience
- Experience with interfacing online and in-store retailers
- Clear working knowledge of SEO. PPC, Content & Social Media Marketing
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
Preferred
- Additional sales experience working with Retailer Brick and Mortar outlets
- Minimum of 8-10 years of wholesale to retail sales experience
- Online content experience /E-commerce third party systems training preferred
