What you’ll be doing...
As Network Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for ordering equipment per the design specifications, tracking the orders, and managing the suppliers. You will help with specific materials for 4G and 5G equipment designs following the meeting of maintenance engineering standards. As an equipment engineer, you will be accountable for creating statements of work for specific engineering projects. The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple projects, engage resources and communicate with collaborators across multiple disciplines to deliver on the network plan of record. You will be responsible for accurately updating our milestones within our project management tools, to ensure task readiness. You will be expected to be a subject matter expert on our tools, equipment, and the wireless engineering process flow. You will be responsible for meeting our regional plan-of-record goals, and financial targets and will be accountable for behaving professionally at all times. When a project needs to be completed, you will determine equipment needs and order and integrate a wide range of equipment like antennas, power systems, and fiber optic cables. You’ll work closely with other Network teams such as RF Design, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities, and System Performance to implement new technologies and services to meet our network improvement goals. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the successful implementation of small cells, macro cells, and/or in-building for the Tristate market. The ideal candidate will have experience in ordering equipment, managing equipment schedules, vendor management, and overall project management.
What we’re looking for…
Project oversight in our Databases (Fuze). Managing project creation, project cancellations, and on-hold status changes in the tools.
Coordinate, support, and assist real estate and construction with power company engagement and requirements.
Apply project management skills to the new build and 5G programs.
Collaborate and coordinate with multiple Network teams including RF Design, Real Estate, Transport, Construction, Network Assurance, and System Performance, to ensure required technology upgrades are implemented properly.
Communicating deployment schedules and priorities with vendors.
Monitor compliance with all Verizon Wireless and industry standards and practices.
Ensure that Inspection and verifications are performed for all installs and that all quality standards are met
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Previous experience managing large-scale projects that interface between multiple teams.
Experience in vendor management, equipment ordering, and forecasting.
Experience in reading, understanding, and commenting on construction drawings.
Experience in 4G network architecture and CRAN architecture.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree.
Experience in designing and implementing wireless communications systems.
Experience with cell site and small cell design for wireless cellular systems.
Experience in project management of large projects.
Ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams.
High-level knowledge of 5G network architecture and equipment.
Ability to lead technical discussions with a group of individuals in the industry with varying technical positions.
Understanding of IP assignments and the OSI model protocols
