Stump Grinding Crew Leader
Serve as the lead Stump Grinder. Primary responsibility to support the tree care crews in the operation of both small and large stump grinding equipment in residential and commercial environments. The Stump Grinding Crew Leader is responsible for scheduling stump grinding jobs, making ULOCO requests and equipment maintenance. Stump grinding is the finishing touch of general tree work at Heartwood Tree Service, performing the final important step of tree removal services for our clients..
What you’ll be doing (not limited to):
- Scheduling jobs
- Schedule requests and communicate with municipal line marking agency to ensure safe environment
- Operate a variety stump grinding equipment on customer job sites for all stump grinding/removal services
- Haul/Move/Rake grindings as specified in customer work order
- Communicates with consultants, territory managers, crew leaders and customers regarding special requests, work orders, hazards and job status
- Perform routine inspections, general maintenance and small repairs of equipment used in operations.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and hand tools used in operations.
- Assist with operations within general tree work as needed/requested by supervisor
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Ability to work effectively in both team and independent environments, as a motivated self-starter
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability and leadership skills
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with customers, vendors, sales consultants, managers and crew leaders
- Computer savvy, scheduling jobs in Arborgold Software
- Ability to reach, kneel, maneuver at ground level, lift up to 50lbs consistently and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous work outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions
- Demonstrate truck with trailer driving operations and have the ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers’ License (if not already in possession)
- Ability to problem solve and/or perform small jobsite repairs
- Ability to understand and complete Job Site Assessments on all customer job sites, identifying any associated hazards
