Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Coordinate activities to maintain a safe, healthful environment for employees and ensure adherence to government regulations and corporate policies, particularly in equipment and process design. Lead safety reviews as needed.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical direction to ensure process designs meet sanitary standards and deliver products that fulfill customer and business requirements.
- Electrical Design Leadership: Offer expertise in electrical design of components, equipment, and processes, applying engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives in safety, quality, cost efficiency, and asset management to promote global continuous improvement.
- Process & Product Innovation: Lead and support the development and commercialization of new processes, technical systems, and process improvements to meet business goals.
- New Product Development: Collaborate with Marketing and Contract Sales to develop new processes supporting product innovation.
- Supplier Collaboration: Build and foster relationships with key equipment suppliers to gain a technical edge.
- Capital Projects & Budgeting: Provide technical support for capital projects, budget processes, and equipment procurement, including cost-saving opportunities.
- Financial & Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, technical guidelines, and internal controls.
- Clear Communication: Maintain transparent, prompt, and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
Education, Skills and Experience Required
- Engineer III - Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 7 years applicable industry experience; or a minimum of 10 years demonstrable, applicable industry experience with a lesser amount of formal education.
- Engineer II - Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent education with three (3) years of experience; or equivalent demonstrable skills and aptitude with six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Recognition as a technical expert in engineering with a broad expertise of interest to the company.
- Comprehensive understanding of all Electrical Codes of practice, NEC and OSHA requirements.
- Proficient in equipment design and specifications of complex PLC, servo and robotic equipment including Rockwell, Allen-Bradley and/or Bosch/Rexroth programming.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate utilizing written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Must be well organized with the ability to support and participate as the lead electrical engineer on multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Ability to obtain a passport and to travel domestically and internationally.
