Position Overview:
Senior Financial Director FP&A/Mgmt. Accounting is a hands-on finance position responsible for all FP&A and Management Accounting activities within this On Location division.
The position will report to the VP, Finance Director Events & On Location and manage a team of Finance Managers, analyst and event accountants to proactively support the business team in delivery of the hospitality products. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical analytics and accounting experience (preferably within Events or Hospitality) along with the adaptability, resilience to change and inter-personal skills necessary to thrive in large people-oriented organizations.
Key areas of responsibility
- Manage an develop a team of event accountants and finance analyst to effectively support the business
- Ensure the management accounting deliverables for monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting is maintained and accurate
- Lead the project’s core financial process including annual plans, quarterly, and monthly forecasts.
- Manage and lead full scope finance planning and accounting resources.
- Partner with divisional and project leadership to formulate forward-looking strategy and growth plans.
- Able to partner cross functionally and at all levels.
- Analysis of operating results compared to plan, prior periods, and forecasts. Includes institution of the framework for P&L analysis
- Prepare consolidated forecasts, budgets, and multi-year financial plans and analyze trends in revenue, expense, capital expenditures, and other related areas.
- Develop financial models to adjust forecasted results for changes in currency, economic environment, additional headcount, and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure a no surprises culture where finance has a key seat at the table when discussing any decisions with financial impacts
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting; ACA, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or MBA
- Experience working with multinational companies
- Experience in Events or Hospitality
- Flexibility to lead during periods of frequent and progressive change.
- Ability to hold themselves and others accountable for performance.
- Travel as required – approx. 25% of the time depending on location.
