Freeman Mathis & Gary is a dynamic and growing 350+ lawyer national litigation firm, with thirty-seven offices in twenty-one states. We are currently seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst. This position will be responsible for assisting with the developing, updating or helping finalize matter budgets. The Senior Pricing Analyst reports directly to the Director of Revenue and works closely with the attorneys in creating and submitting matter budgets and matter budget updates in a timely manner. This position ensures that pricing strategies are aligned with client needs and assists with tracking, measuring and reporting the firm’s pricing arrangements. This position needs to be familiar with insurance guidelines for establishing budgets and standard litigation billing practices. This position is an independent contributor who works with multiple stakeholders as well as the E-Billing department and should be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization.
The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Local remote work is available after a firm established introductory period. Applicants must be comfortable working in an in person setting at all times.

Essential Job Functions:
- Work with Managers and attorneys to model and develop matter budgets and fee estimates that take into account firm/attorney needs and client requirements
- Reviews Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) to identify client and matter specific financial terms
- Identify matters which require a matter budget and collaborate with attorneys to create matter specific budgets
- Track matter budget utilization across multiple eBilling platforms
- Track and maintain reporting on matter budget submissions by attorney
- Serve as a resource for Managers and attorneys, offering credible financial information by compiling historical financial data in a useful format and using information to help proactively inform matter budgets or matter budget updates
- Assist with procurement rate/fee negotiations, including liaising with the Billing and eBilling teams as needed to ensure negotiated rates/fees are correctly implemented
- Track and maintain pertinent information relating to all budgeting/fee estimate efforts across the firm and assist with data integrity efforts in the Firm’s billing platform
- Work with Managers to build reports to analyze ongoing realization and profitability of engagements, particularly focused on the success or failure of initial pricing strategies in producing profitable outcomes
- Work closely with Firm leadership to analyze matter financial performance focused especially on revenue generation and profitability
- Review historical data to help issue spot and identify trends and insights that focus on ways to improve performance and the matter budgeting process

Required Experience/Skills
- High proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and utilize additional software and systems; experience with SQL a plus;
- Strong client service orientation and financial analysis background a plus;
- Familiarity with E-billing vendor sites (LegalX, T360, etc.) preferred but not required
- Data-driven and/or financial analytics experience preferred;
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under tight deadlines
- Understanding of financial management and business drivers, and ability to think strategically and analytically
- General knowledge of industry business acumen; apply sound judgment and discretion with respect to confidential and sensitive information;
- Ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing (visual reports, graphs, etc.);
- Strong ability to work independently and with teams, creatively and proactively;
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with all levels of personnel and work collaboratively across all firm departments; and
- Proven organizational skills; ability to execute identified initiatives and processes in a timely manner.
Education
- BA or BS in business, finance or accounting preferred
- High School education with Paralegal Certificate; or
- Equivalent experience the same or similar position at a law firm or insurance company
