A financial firm is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join their team.

Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, and maintain physical and virtual Linux machines (RHEL and OEL 7, 8, 9).
- Manage Linux repository servers, YUM, Apache, REAR, NFS, Samba, SSSD, and Linux firewalls. Support Linux hardening practices to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for Linux servers. Expertise and management of Veritas Alta Vault and NetBackup solutions for data protection and recovery.
- Working with DBAs perform routine maintenance, backups, and troubleshooting of Oracle databases to ensure high availability and best performance of database systems.
- Create and maintain scripts using Python and PERL for automation and management tasks. Develop tools and scripts to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Manage CPANEL and WordPress installations, including security enhancements and performance optimizations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web and application servers.
- Maintain and manage Client DL servers and associated hardware. Implement and manage SAN technologies to support storage requirements.
- Understand and configure firewall rules, TCP/IP networking, and secure network practices. Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure a secure infrastructure operation.
- Administer and support Linux virtual environments using Microsoft Hyper-V. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and administrative tasks. Knowledge of SharePoint, M365, Exchange, OneDrive are a Plus.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Linux administration, specifically RHEL and OEL.
- Proven experience in managing Linux repository servers, YUM, Apache, REAR, NFS, Samba, SSSD, and Linux firewalls.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and PERL.
- Knowledge of ProLiant servers and 3PAR SAN technologies.
- Understanding of firewall, networking, and TCP/IP principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and PowerShell scripting.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Experience operating Veritas Alta on AWS.
Preferred
- Certifications in Linux (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) and Oracle Database.
- Experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
