Summary
Establish, formalize and sustain ALIGN PRECISION corporate-wide Operational Excellence (OE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) philosophy and tool set(s). Identify, develop and drive implementation of operational and business improvement initiatives within and across business segments of ALIGN PRECISION. Perform operational and business assessments to identify opportunities for profitability and customer satisfaction enhancements. Through assessments and benchmarking of similar or adjacent businesses, advise operating unit and segment leadership on applicable best practices and standards utilized by world class manufacturing companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
• Through plant exposure (site visits) and management discussion, become familiar with the segments and operating units of ALIGN PRECISION including current business models and customers.
• Work with executive leadership; develop overall strategy and scope of ALIGN PRECISIONOE philosophy, objectives, and approach.
• Perform detailed plant and operations evaluations of ALIGN PRECISION business units to gather baseline performance on key operating measures. Identify highest value targets for improvement initiatives.
• Work with local and executive management to develop implementation plans and resources needed for OE initiatives to affect change.
• Qualify and present cost savings opportunities in a deliverable format to ALIGN PRECISION Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
• Support cost management by making implementation choices consistent with financial goals. Drive high level performance by taking into account recommendations from project leaders and participants.
• Establish a culture of accountability throughout the organization by facilitating an effective goal deployment process that aligns with business unit and corporate goals.
• Integrate Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing tools to consistently improve process yields, reduce waste, and drive, maintain and leverage relationships across the organization to identify opportunities for process improvement. Facilitate the implementation and continuously monitor processes, and stay up to date on developments in process improvement methodologies and best practices.
• Provide the necessary leadership to promote change throughout the organization and continue to develop and lead world class continuous improvement practices.
• Develop business improvement planning processes that align and prioritize improvement projects linked to business strategy and business planning at corporate and operational levels.
• Implement solutions across the organization to identify and eliminate waste, organize around Lean processes and deliver excellence on safety, environmental responsibility, quality, productivity and cost.
• Facilitate the selection and scope of specific improvement projects while coordinating with leaders to eliminate barriers and raise awareness if/when needed.
Qualification and Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University, preferably in a technical or manufacturing discipline. Master’s degree in business management preferred.
• Strong and working knowledge of manufacturing plant operations, and quality management systems, including applicable standards within medical device, aerospace, and defense industries.
• Experience with supply chain management and optimization as it pertains to OEM/Supplier relationships.
• Strong grounding and experience with the application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC and CI principals.
• Experience with operational related consulting.

Language Skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ERP systems and database analytics.
