Full Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Location: New Bern, NC. Open to anyone in the US provided they're able to relocate (comprehensive relocation packaged provided).
Compensation: 110-160k (flexible depending on experience) + 10% bonus
About the Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead our client's Manufacturing Engineering and Factory Maintenance department.
In this position, you will manage the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes, ensuring efficient resource utilization while considering quality, safety, ergonomics, and environmental impact.
This is a managerial role with responsibilities that include overseeing management processes, planning departmental growth, and making decisions in collaboration with HR regarding hiring.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach department associates, focusing on motivation, skill development, and personal growth.
- Set and communicate clear department goals aligned with company and factory objectives.
- Manage and achieve departmental targets.
- Ensure the development and modification of equipment, tools, processes, and workstations prioritize economical, quality, reliability, safety, and ergonomic standards.
- Standardize equipment, tools, processes, and workplaces.
- Oversee the smooth integration of new products and changes into factory processes.
- Provide timely and effective production support.
- Promote and control continuous optimization processes aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs in labor, overhead, and materials.
- Oversee plant maintenance, including the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Coordinate factory investment planning and budget management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- Master's degree in Engineering (Preferred)
- 3-4 years of experience in people management
- 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Production
- Maintenance experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially metal forming, welding, coating, and assembly
- Experience with lean manufacturing, problem-solving, cost analysis, project management, and relevant technical systems (Electrical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics)
- Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
