Corporate Counsel

I am partnered with a fast-growing investment firm focused on global power markets. This innovative company serves multiple funds, aiming to be a strategic partner for traders and investors. With a strong emphasis on international expansion, they provide a collaborative environment that fosters learning and flexibility in a startup culture.
They are seeking a Corporate Counsel to join them as their first legal hire, reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. This role will be instrumental in managing document drafting, regulatory compliance, and supporting various legal initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SEC, NFA, and FERC regulations, including managing regulatory filings such as Blue Sky and ADV.
- Refine company policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct research on international legal entity creation and compliance with foreign regulatory frameworks.
- Manage outside counsel and budgets, while reviewing and drafting key internal documents, including bank agreements, ISDA agreements, and service provider contracts.
- Assist with domestic and international HR matters, including employee agreements and handbooks.
Experience:
- 2+ years of legal experience, particularly in document drafting, with an understanding of the private equity funds business.
- Strong skills in legal drafting and document review are essential.
- Experience in accounting, corporate finance, or energy finance is a plus.
