Goodwill TalentBridge is assisting with recruitment for an experienced Tool & Die Design Engineer! Our client is a custom metal component manufacturer serving a diverse range of customers and industries.
What is the Position?
The Tool & Die Design Engineer will primarily be focused on the Tool and Die Department preparing and designing detailed drawings and specifications for a variety of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and more. This is an active, hands-on role in a dynamic environment working with customers and across various departments, unsuitable for those who prefer to spend their day at a desk focused solely on design.

What are the Details?
- Onsite
- Full time with Direct Hire
- Schedules available from Mon-Thur (10 hr) days to Mon-Fri (8 hr) days
What are the Responsibilities? Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare, design, and detail drawings and specifications for a variety of tools, simple dies, fixtures, gauges, machine attachments, and more
- Reverse Engineer original product design/concepts utilizing sketches and instruction to determine machine capabilities and specifications, then apply those original ideas
- Detail complex tool and die drawings
- Prepare material lists for all materials used to construct tooling and suggest vendors
- Assist Engineering and Sales Coordinator in filing and mining customer files, part prints, tool drawings, inspection reports, routings, as well as specifications and quotes
- Assist in the interpretation of drawings and layout of the necessary material for estimating purposes
What are the Necessary Skills? Skills include but are not limited to:
- Associate's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in a Manufacturing Engineer position.
- Preference for 5 years of experience in Tool and Die Design, particularly in Stamping, Forming, and Virtual Gibbs.
- Proficient in design using Solid Edge software.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse levels within the organization as well as with external customers and vendors.
