Civil Engineer

As a member of this growing team, you will lead site civil design for the expansion, improvement, and creation of new water and wastewater treatment plants. You will collaborate with various teams of process, mechanical, structural, and electrical experts to deliver custom, complex designs for municipalities in an ever-evolving arena of aging infrastructure and changing regulations. Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of dedicated designers to produce detailed civil design plans and specifications supporting water and wastewater projects.
- Collaborate with other design teams to develop comprehensive site plans that exceed client expectations for the operation of water and wastewater facilities.
- Perform and review all necessary hydrologic and hydraulic calculations used to develop grading and drainage plans.
- Develop yard piping plans, including analyzing hydraulic modeling scenarios to optimize alignments throughout facilities.
- Coordinate with local entities to obtain stormwater, floodplain, grading, and other pertinent permits.
- Assist the project team in navigating local developmental standards and requirements for permitting improvements.
- Recommend construction sequencing for construction phase services.
- Develop criteria for construction and plant operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Five or more years of direct site civil design experience.
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Floodplain Manager certification (CFM).
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D software.
- Experience designing lift stations, booster pump stations, pipelines, and water and wastewater treatment facilities, or other site improvement projects.
- Experience working with process, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control disciplines.
- Experience developing erosion and sedimentation control plans.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
