Field Engineering Specialist – Southern California
We are looking for a Field Engineering Specialist to support customers across Southern California. This role involves working hands-on in tissue labs with advanced diagnostic machines and instruments. The position offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise through extensive training and work alongside cutting-edge medical technologies.
Location: Southern California (must live within 50 miles of a major airport)
Compensation: Around $35/hr (depending on experience) with overtime eligibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end maintenance of tissue diagnostic machines and instruments.
- Travel frequently (60-70% of the time) to customer sites across Southern California.
- Complete comprehensive training over the first 12 months at Roche Diagnostics HQ in Fishers, Indiana.
- Deliver on-site technical support, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure optimal machine performance.
- Engage directly with customers and lab personnel, offering support and training.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of mechanical experience, with exposure to electrical systems (lab experience not required).
- Veterans with machinery/technical backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.
- Reliable vehicle and insurance, as well as a personal credit card for travel expenses (fully reimbursed weekly).
- Ability to travel extensively (Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays required).
