Client is seeking an experienced E&C Engineer to join its energy supply projects group, supporting capital projects at the Client Facility in Brush, CO. This position focuses on managing emergent capital projects as well as supporting larger base and major capital projects for the Client Facility. The engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of plant systems and operations by managing multiple small to moderate-sized projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee and manage up to 20 small emergent capital projects at a time, with responsibility for full lifecycle management from scoping and justification to execution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with plant operations, reliability engineering, and other internal teams to understand plant systems, address operational needs, and ensure smooth project execution.
- Contractor/Vendor Management: Interface with external contractors, vendors, and consulting engineers to procure services, equipment, and materials necessary for project completion. Handle bidding processes, technical evaluations, and vendor coordination.
- Field Oversight: Provide field engineering oversight for activities such as installation, commissioning, testing, and inspections. Ensure alignment with plant standards and safety protocols.
- Documentation and Administration: Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, and other required documentation. Handle project administrative tasks including budgeting, work order management, scheduling, and procurement via SAP.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor less experienced engineers and support staff. Assign tasks to contractors and internal teams, ensuring all work meets project requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the technical contact on significant projects, interfacing with internal teams, external vendors, and consulting engineers.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-10 years of experience in engineering and project management, preferably in a power plant or manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field). Having taken or an interest in taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency:
- SAP: Experience with SAP for work order planning and procurement.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Familiarity with ProjectWise for accessing drawings and documentation is a plus.
- Project Management: Cradle-to-grave project management experience, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, resolve complex issues, and build strong working relationships.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timeliness without sacrificing attention to detail.
