Position Overview:
We are seeking a Manager of Corporate Communications for the Americas, covering needs in both North and South America, with a principal focus on the United States and Canada. The role is based in Washington, D.C., and the candidate will work closely with the Head of Global Public Affairs and the Global Communications team to drive the development and implementation of a focused communications strategy, which includes both owned content and media engagement. The right candidate will work closely with senior leaders and business groups to increase awareness and understanding of the company, its businesses, and key initiatives in the market.
We are looking for a dynamic team player with exceptional writing and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally within a broader global public affairs and communications team. The ideal candidate will bring a clear understanding of the media and technology landscape, as well as a deft ability to understand and manage pressing and sometimes high-profile issues. They should be skilled at explaining complex subjects in an understandable way, have strong research and problem-solving skills, creative thinking, editorial, project management expertise, a global mindset and the ability and sensitivity to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
As a member of the Global Public Affairs and Communications team, the successful candidate will work across the organization, including with headquarters and regional teams, to implement key corporate initiatives in the United States and Canada, as well as rest of market. They will communicate regularly with journalists and other thought leaders, create communications materials and campaigns, engage commentators and other opinion leaders, and develop print and web-based materials to support communications. The successful candidate should also have experience in content/editorial, in either writing, video production, or photography to support the team’s growing and diverse content team.
The communications team manages the company’s reputation and key issues, keeps users informed, and works with partners, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders to share our business, our company culture and values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed, the right candidate will combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, enjoy networking and pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, and producing communications materials and organizing events.

Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in managing an active and dynamic media, communications program.
- Experience working for or with a global, cross-cultural organization in corporate communications roles
- Superb writing and editing skills, with background in content creation (editorial, video, photography, social media, or managing a content calendar) a big plus
- Ability to quickly identify the crux of a complicated issue and communicate effectively to diverse audiences
- Experience blending traditional communications tactics with digital media
- Extensive knowledge of and strong journalist network in the United States
- Exceptional project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to completion, often with short deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to counsel executives, provide an informed point of view and defend that position as needed.

- Highly collaborative with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- English fluency, both written and verbal, required. Additional foreign language skills (including Mandarin) is desirable but not required.
