We are seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer for a long-term project based in Richland, Washington. This position offers a per diem, paid mobilization, occasional paid trips home, and the opportunity for overtime.
We are seeking a Sr HVAC Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team, dedicated to designing and procuring plant HVAC systems. This role involves preparing technical reports, design documentation, and performing calculations using specialized engineering software. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing specifications for complex mechanical equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in the collection of HVAC, safety, and other essential data for support systems.
- Design HVAC systems and specify equipment to meet strict design and safety requirements.
- Manage the procurement of equipment in line with quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with engineering groups and various disciplines in developing detailed system designs and equipment specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and studies to address technical issues related to process systems.
- Develop and update ventilation and instrument diagrams (V&IDs), perform formal calculations, and complete equipment datasheets and specifications for system design.
- Support safety analysis and hazard evaluations.
- Serve as a key liaison with external partners, including vendors, construction companies, and subcontractors, representing our commitment to leadership, quality, and safety.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college, with at least nine (9) years of related experience. Alternatively, 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with V&IDs, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical/HVAC systems and equipment in power plants, refineries, or chemical process facilities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining necessary security clearances.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including employment and education verification.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with vendor interactions for equipment procurement.
- Knowledge in CGD and/or Environmental Equipment Qualification is an asset.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination.
- Proficiency with Trane TRACE™ 700 and VariTrane™ Duct Designer software.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
