Maintenance Technician
A highly reputable and successful real estate firm in Nassau County is seeking an OSHA-certified Maintenance Technician to support the facilities of their expanding portfolio. This stable and profitable company manages over 10 million square feet of commercial properties. Experience in trades or facilities management within a real estate environment is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned work orders and handle day-to-day maintenance tasks.
- Address basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building structures, mechanical systems, and surrounding grounds.
- Replace faulty components such as light bulbs, filters, and fixtures as needed.
- Coordinate with external contractors to complete larger or specialized projects.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, replacement parts, and cleaning materials, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with building management to address tenant requests and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes during all maintenance tasks.
- Assist in inspections and ensure that all facilities meet safety regulations.
- Take on additional maintenance duties as assigned by management.
- Follow and update routine maintenance schedules to ensure timely upkeep.
- Participate in building and safety inspections, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
- Oversee contractors to ensure all work is completed according to contract terms.
- Maintain clear communication with company staff and represent the organization professionally and ethically.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 30 certification is mandatory.
- Valid New York State driver’s license required.
- 3+ years of experience in trades, project management, facilities, or maintenance roles.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes, repair techniques, and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to adhering to safety standards.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and access confined spaces, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces, for equipment maintenance.
- Capability to lift, squat, bend, reach and remain on foot for extended periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
Salary: $30-$33 per hour, 401k match, comprehensive health benefits and, many other valuable perks.
