Job Title: Project Manager (General Contractor & Government Projects)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Salary Range: $90,000- $110,000
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in managing general contractor and government construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of construction processes, and experience with government contracts and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, including government and general contracting projects.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to financial goals.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and government officials.
- Ensure compliance with all government contract requirements, regulations, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EM 385-1-1).
- Oversee the procurement process, ensuring proper selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage risk assessments and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and mitigate potential delays.
- Review and approve project-related documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
- Monitor project progress, perform regular site inspections, and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
- Track and report project milestones, performance metrics, and budgets to upper management and government agencies.
- Ensure strict compliance with contract terms, conditions, and government regulations, including wage determinations and labor compliance (e.g., Davis-Bacon Act).
- Lead project meetings, providing clear communication and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Manage project closeout process, including punch list resolution, final inspections, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. (preferred but, not required)
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in general contracting and government construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to government projects.
- Proven experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of government contract compliance (e.g., FAR, DFARS) is a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit construction sites regularly.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds if required.
