We are seeking to hire a Legal Assistant-Paralegal to help our litigation practice group.
Who we are:
We have the largest practice group in the country dedicated to representing the financial services industry, including collection agencies, creditors, banks, debt buyers, student loan servicers, telemarketers, and other financial institutions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Assist with and prepare court filings for clients.
- Maintain tasks and deadlines via a computerized docket management system to ensure timely filings.
- Clerical duties, including answering calls, travel planning, etc.
- Assist in obtaining and organizing client information.
- Review information provided by clients and verify that such information is accurate and responsive.
- Preparing document drafts and supplemental documents/exhibits needed for the filings.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records for clients.
Required skills and competencies:
- Proficiency with MS Office (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, Access), and PDF software.
- Proficiency in a paperless environment.
- Ability to document time and proof of value for client billing.
- 2-3 years of experience in a law firm environment and demonstrated knowledge of litigation processes.
- E-filing experience.
- ProLaw experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to communicate with clients.
- Ability to work independently. Self-driven with a desire to learn and improve continuously.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with organizational skills and able to produce high quality work.
- Ability to adapt and prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent and consistent attention to detail.
